So, it’s the end of April – where did this month go? Still looking for some warmer weather – there’s still a chill in the air and frost in the morning. Doesn’t Mother Nature know that there’s only two more days till May??? That being said, we have been working hard to get open! Our staff – Alex, Gena and Kristopher – have been raking, cleaning, and organizing. Our Plumber-Extrordinaire, Mo, is here turning on water and we anticipate the arrival of our “Maintenance Supervisor”Joe S, by the end of this week. We’ve got some exciting projects we hope to get done by Memorial Day weekend if all goes well. What are they, you ask? Well – keep checking Facebook, Pinterest and Instragram for updates. Of course, you can just come and see for yourself!
Here’s a little taste of summer to hold you over – it’s almost Spring! Summer’s getting closer every day (don’t look out the window at the snow)… think sunshine and warm temps, a cold beer, a dip in the lake…
Spring is just around the corner – I know if you look out the window around here, it doesn’t look a bit like Spring, but we all know snow melts. We’ve got to look forward! That being said, just want to give you an update on availability for some of the big events that go on in the Lakes Region and Weirs Beach:
- Laconia Motorcycle Week – we got cottages, suites and room available for the first half and some rooms with shared baths for the entire week.
- Nascar in July – We’ve got a smattering of everything available.
- Soulfest in August – note the date change to August 7-10: openings in cottages, rooms and suites.
- Ironman Timberman Triathlon – openings in cottages, rooms and suites.
If you are planning on attending one of these events, give us a call or shoot us an email so that we can get you booked in!
The Groundhog saw his shadow today, even though the ski was overcast…hmmmm… not sure what to make of that but, as per usual, we’ll have 6 more weeks of winter.
It’s Superbowl Sunday – Seattle vs. Denver – who’s your pick? I’m going with Seattle…I’ve been to both places but I like Seattle more – ferry boats, Grey’s Anatomy, Pike Place – yeah, I like that stuff and I like Pete Carroll – so I’m routing for Seattle!
Ok – enough with this polar vortex… baby, it’s WAY too cold outside! I know, I know, but it’s winter and it’s supposed to be cold…but really??
In the next couple of weeks the Lakes Region area will be hosting the NE Pond Hockey Classic, the Rotary Ice Fishing Derby and the Lakes Region Sled Dog Derby… so yes, we need cold and snow for these events – but after they’re over – bring on Spring!
A New Year is upon us and we are hopeful and anxious to see what it brings. Here’s wishing you health, happiness, prosperity and vacation in 2014! Even though we are covered with snow, we are taking reservations for Laconia Motorcycle Week, Nascar, Ironman Timberman, Soulfest and of course – summer vacations! Book early to get the best selection! Happy New Year!
We’re getting our first big storm of the winter season – it’s cold and windy – like it should be in mid-December! We’re definitely going to have a white Christmas this year!
We are now taking reservations for Bike Week 2014 – June 13-22! We are right in the heart of the rally so you can walk to vendor row, night clubs, beer tents etc. Check out our Bike Week page on our website under “Special Events.” Availability is limited so contact us today!
As the 2013 vacation season is coming to an end, we want to thank all our guests for making this one of our best years ever. Without you and your patronage, we wouldn’t be here. We humbly thank you.
And as a send off to 2013, we have updated our website – it may look the same, but trust me, it’s undergone some big “back of the house” changes (a BIG thank you to Kevin Skarritt)! It will make it easier for us to keep you updated and hopefully it is easier for you to navigate. We welcome your feedback.
Wishes for a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in 2014! (by the way, we are now accepting 2014 reservations!)
We still got a few prime cottages available for the July 4th holiday week. Fireworks will be at 12:01AM on July 4th – the first in the state on the holiday. It’s a great time for fun, sun and Weirs Beach activities!
