We’ve had a pretty tame winter season here in Weirs Beach and the Lakes Region of NH, but today with only 19 days left till Spring, the biggest (?) snowstorm of the season is ranging outside our doors - the old adage still applies - the month of March - In like a lion; out like a lamb!

Let us make it easier for you. When you book a cottage with us in Weirs Beach, you’ve taken a great deal of stress of your back. With us you are getting a clean, comfortable cottage with full equipped kitchens to cook (or not!) and grills right outside your door. We provide all the bedding, have air conditioning, and flat panel TV’s and DVD players (for those not-so-sunny days). We have two pools on the property so chances are that you and your kids will be close to a pool! Within a short walking distance is plenty of kid/family-friendly activities - especially the clean, picturesque Weirs Beach. The M/S Mount Washington Cruise ship, the Hobo Railroad as well as mini-golf, batting cages, bumper cars and bumper boats(!), arcades, drive-in movies, waterslides, ropes courses and of course, go-carts! We’re 3 miles from supermarkets, Walmart and TJ Maxx/Homegoods for shopping. We’ve got many fine restaurants - from the romantic to family favorites. Take the pressure off - it’s all here. You’ll truly find a great value in staying with us and in Weirs Beach!

Once February hits, the winter season is all downhill… pun intended for the skiers out there! Lots of winter activity happens in February - pond hockey tourneys, ice fishing derbies, sled dog races to name a few. In a couple of weeks, they will be over and March and Spring are dead ahead. February is also the month when people realize time is ticking by and if they want to book for upcoming special events, namely Laconia Motorcycle Week, Nascar Race weekend, Soulfest and Ironman Timberman Triathlon - they’d better hop to it. We’ve still got some prime accommodations available for each of these events, not to mention summer vacation lodging. So take this as a gentle reminder that everyday we get closer…closer…closer!

As 2011 is winding down, now is the time to think about booking for your 2012 event vacation lodging. We are centrally located for Laconia Motorcycle Week (dead center!), Timberman Triathlon (six miles from the race starting point), and the Nascar Race weekends (only 12 miles from the speedway) for July or September. This is the best time to book for the best selection!

As we move into Fall, there is still lots to do in the Lakes Region - cruise the lake, hike a mountain, apple-pick, wine taste, by a Chowderfest judge, golf, get lost in a corn maize, choose the perfect pumpkin, zipline down Gunstock, take a ropes course challenge, drive along the Kancamangus Highway to view the Presidential Range in full autumn color, and of course, visit the Sandwich Fair over Columbus Day Weekend!
